Briar Ridge is located high on the slopes of Mt View, at the southern tip of the Hunter Valley viticultural area. We draw our fruit from 70 acres of company-controlled vineyard at Mt View. The vines are hand nurtured and yields are kept down to only 2.5 tonnes per acre. Nearly a third of the fruit is clipped and simply dropped on the ground, leaving the remaining bunches to develop concentrated fruit flavours. This expensive, labour-intensive approach in the vineyard in combined with the very latest technology in the winery. The results? Intensely flavoured, medal-winning wines are distinctively Hunter in character. Briar Ridge's Winemakers are renowned for producing classic Distinctively Hunter wines, with intense flavour and character across many varietals. With a vineyard of enviable microclimate and low yield hand nurtured vines, the stage is set for the Winemakers to produce some of Hunter and Australia's finest medal winning wines.
