Allandale
Winery
Allandale
is a modern small to medium size winery
situated in the Lower Hunter Valley wine
growing area just north of Sydney
Australia.
The winery
was established in 1978 and over the time
has built an enviable reputation for
premium quality varietal wines. Over the
last few years the winery has sourced
grapes from the Mudgee area, the Hilltops
region (near Young, NSW), McLaren Vale and
of course predominantly the Hunter Valley.
The winery
is owned and operated by Wally and Judith
Atallah who have seen the winery develop
from a small production sold through
cellar door to a winery with sales in all
the eastern states and export markets in 5
overseas countries.
Allandale
is managed by Bill Sneddon (a graduate in
Oenology from Charles Sturt University).
Bill oversees marketing and sales
operations and is the winemaker for the
winery.
Allandale
was established in 1978. It is a modern
boutique winery on the hill looking over
17 acres of well-ordered vines and
enjoying a panoramic view of the Lower
Hunter and Brokenback Range.
The area
has become to be known as Lovedale with
many guest houses, galleries, restaurants
and an 18 hole golf course. Allandale
has a superb range of quality wines
known for their full flavour, good
structure and varietal
character.
Allandale
has enjoyed the prestige of local,
national and international wine show
awards. Several wines over the years have
been selected in the "Top 100" at the
Sydney International Winemakers
Show.
Classic
Hunter varieties, Chardonnay, Semillon,
Shiraz and Cabernet, along with Riesling,
Verdelho and Méthode Champenoise
are available for tasting at the
winery.
Allandale,
the vineyard, is 17 acres of top quality
grape varieties - Pinot Noir, Chardonnay,
and Semillon.
Allandale's
winemaker, Bill Sneddon, believes in a
traditional style of viticulture, where
the vines are tended with utmost care to
ensure only full-flavoured fruit is
crushed.
